C4ISR contracting opportunity for defence suppliers
Dstl is seeking suppliers in the field of C4ISR for a contracting framework.
Suppliers within the area of Command, Control, Communication and Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) are invited to sign up to a new contracting framework.
The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) spends around £8 million on C4ISR research each year. It wants suppliers to join its R-Cloud(Research-Cloud) to gain access to Dstl’s latest research requirements in this area.
This is the third of 9 capability areas to offer research opportunities throughR-Cloud, which provides easy-to-use, direct access to current and future research requirements. Further roll out, across Dstl’s other capability areas, is expected over the coming months.
Suppliers working in the area of C4ISR can apply to be part of R-Cloud via the Defence Contracts Online (DCO) pre-qualification portal from 3 October until 5 November 2014. (See ‘R-CloudFramework C4ISR’ contract opportunity). Access is via the DCO response manager using the access code: PJE36WNZUK.
New users will need to create a supplier account within the DCO portal in order to access this contracting opportunity and provide the necessary pre-qualification information.
If successful, suppliers will then be considered for future R-Cloud C4ISRresearch contract opportunities with mini-competitions being run where suppliers will be invited to express interest and tender for different tasks.
Dstl’s R-Cloud Project Manager, Neil Higson, said: “I am really pleased with the momentum we are achieving with R-Cloud. The last two calls for suppliers have generated over 200 new members for R-Cloud within the CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) and Counter Terrorism and Security capability areas; this is a great foundation for us to build upon. I am keen that we have a broad supplier base for R-Cloud across all capability areas, so please take a look at this latest opportunity.”
