Digitisation offers unprecedented opportunities

Digitisation offers unprecedented opportunities, especially in terms of the relationship between the government, citizens & businesses. However, digital information must strike a balance between government interests and those of citizens.

Confidence in digital government

In the group sessions held on the first day of the conference, the opportunities were clearly outlined. Decision makers and digitisation policymakers from EU member states, EU institutions and the scientific community debated the opportunities and potential solutions that digital government presents. Three key topics were discussed, namely the new relationship between governments and the public, better use of data, and confidence in digital government.

The conference continued on Friday 3 June with more group sessions. These were followed by the plenary concluding session of the conference, which was coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Bas Eenhoorn, National Commissioner for Digital Government, gave the closing address.
