Food and Drink Wales sails across the Atlantic

A selection of speciality producers will be heading across the Atlantic this week to fly the flag for Welsh food and drink at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, 28 - 30 June 2015.

Supported by the Welsh Government, producers will be attending the event to seek new markets and increase sales, something that we are committed to achieving by working with the industry their Food and Drink Action Plan.

Deputy Minister for Farming and Food, Rebecca Evans, said,

"We are very proud of our food and drink offer here in Wales.

"The Welsh Government has an ambitious plan to grow the industry by 30% by 2020. Part of that plan includes helping food and drink businesses to increase their exports. To do so, we are making a significant investment in the industry by providing opportunities to attendglobal trade events to help businesses identify greater international trade opportunities and secure growth.

"We have a range of Welsh companies and products exhibiting at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, from baked goods to cheeses and honey, and we are proud to celebrate and showcase our fine products to the American market."

Summer Fancy Food is the largest specialty food trade event in North America and the leading showcase of industry innovation, bringing specialty food's top manufacturers, buyers, and thought leaders together under one roof.  The event will feature more than 180,000 products, 25,000 buyers, and 2,500 exhibitors.
