Great opportunity to step up for work

Young adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities are being offered an opportunity to help them on to the career ladder through a 12-month programme.

The Steps into Work scheme, which is jointly run by TfL, Barnet and Southgate College and Remploy, gives people aged 16 and above the chance to gain work experience while studying towards a BTEC Level 1 work skills qualification.

TfL will offer participants three work placements lasting between nine and 11 weeks, providing a mixture of office-based work and on-the-job experience at a London Underground station.

Recruitment is open for next January and there will be a series of open days on 23, 25 and 27 May to provide more details on the programme.

For more information or to register for the information days, email stepsintowork@tfl.gov.uk or call 0203 054 2718.
