IPCC investigation into police shooting in Hersden, Kent

At 2.12am on Monday 9 February the IPCC was informed by Kent Police of an incident in Hersden, Canterbury in which a man was shot by police and a young woman was stabbed. The IPCC has declared an independent investigation and investigators were deployed to the scene and post incident procedure.

The IPCC has been informed that both the man and young woman are in hospital in a critical condition.

More information will be released in due course.

The IPCC's independent investigation will look at the police response to the incident.
