New £15 million funds open to increase diversity of England's arts and culture
Last week, the Arts Council launched two new funds which focus on diversity in art and culture.
The Change Makers fund will help address the lack of diversity in arts leadership, while the Sustained Theatre fund will support Black and minority ethnic theatre makers.
These new funds are an important part of our approach to ensuring that art and culture in England is a true reflection of the rich diversity of our nation. We call this the Creative Case for Diversity.
Alongside this new investment, we are also opening further rounds of our Research Grants programme and Artists' International Development Fund.
New Funds
Change Makers
This fund is designed to support a cohort of Black, minority ethnic and disabled leaders to develop their leadership skills.
Sustained Theatre
The Sustained Theatre fund is designed to support the development of established and emerging Black and minority ethnic theatre makers and increase their representation across the wider theatre sector in England.
Returning funds
Research Grants programme
This fund aims to increase knowledge and understanding about the impact of arts and culture.
Artists' International Development Fund
This fund supports artists in the early stages of their career to spend time building links with artists or organisations in another country.
