New blog post on competition law redress

How to seek redress if you feel you're a victim of a breach of competition law.

Marc Braithwaite has written a blog post explaining how the Consumer Rights Act 2015 has strengthened means for victims of breaches of competition law to gain redress and introduces the Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) new guidance on how to try to get back what you’ve lost.

The guidance explains the redress options available to victims of competition law breaches.

It reflects the changes in the law made by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA) as well as those due to be introduced by the European Damages Directive. These changes are intended to make it easier for individuals and businesses to seek redress for breaches of competition law.

The guidance also replaces the Office of Fair Trading publication ‘Quick guide to private litigation in competition cases (OFT1520)’.
