Voting opens in final of The National Lottery Awards 2011

The National Lottery Awards has launched the final phase of its annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects.

People can now vote to decide which of the finalists will win the title in each of the seven categories, which reflect the main areas of Lottery funding: arts, sport, heritage, voluntary/charity, environment, health and education.

“These finalists showcase the selfless volunteers and unsung heroes who are using Lottery funding to improve the lives of others,” Lottery draw show host Myleene Klass said. “This is your final chance to pay tribute to them by voting for your favourite project. Please get behind your local project and secure them national recognition – every vote counts.”

The winner in each category will be recognised at a star-studded event later this year and receive a £2,000 cash prize to spend on their project.

Voting opened this morning and will end at midday at 26 September. To find out more about the 22 finalists and to vote for your favourites, visit The National Lottery Awards website.
