CBI People Awards

The CBI has launched a new awards programme, the ‘CBI People Awards’, to recognise those organisations that have successfully adapted to change while maintaining high-quality employee relations.

Katja Hall, Director of Employment Policy at the CBI, said:

“Right across the private and public sectors, people are having to deal with social, economic and technological change. The inaugural CBI People Awards programme has been created to celebrate forward-thinking, people-centred organisations which take their staff with them through this challenging process.”

Nominations are now being invited from UK companies and public-sector organisations across seven categories:

  • Innovation in the Workplace
  • Change Management
  • Green Strategy
  • Growing Business
  • Skills for the Future
  • Value in the Public Sector
  • International People Engagement

A final CBI People Grand Prix Award will be presented to one organisation, drawn from the shortlisted candidates, that the judges and awards committee feel is worthy of special recognition for its culture of positive people engagement through a process of change.

The deadline for entries is 8 December 2010.

Judges for the CBI People Awards include:

  • Professor Chris Brady, Dean of BPP Business School
  • Madalyn Brooks, HR Director, UK & Ireland Procter & Gamble
  • Stephen Dando, Chief HR Officer, Thomson Reuters
  • Laura King, Global People Partner, Clifford Chance
  • David MacLeod, Non-Executive Director, DFID
  • Ed Sweeney, Chairman, ACAS
  • Imelda Walsh, former Group HR Director, J Sainsbury
  • Katja Hall, Director of Employment Policy, CBI

The inaugural CBI People Awards ceremony will be presented at a gala dinner on 28 March, 2011 at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square.
