Minister tells NHS managers to take action in response to the recent NHS Wales staff survey
The survey, published on 3rd May, gave a mixed picture. Staff reported high levels of commitment to their work and their patients. However, only 19% of staff felt senior management within their organisation would act on the results of the survey. The Minister has challenged managers to prove staff wrong by taking on board their concerns and taking swift action to address them.
Speaking at a conference of the Healthcare People Management Association in Cardiff last week (Thursday 16 May), the Minister said:
"Staff who work in the NHS, including managers, are instrumental in delivering an NHS we can all be proud of.
"I have made it very clear to Chairs and Chief Executives of our Health Boards and Trusts that I expect them to respond quickly to their local NHS Staff Survey Reports. They must publish the local results of the survey on their websites and talk to staff about the findings.
