A new edition of the essential guide to researching Caribbean family history at The National Archives and beyond has been published by Bloomsbury and is now available in our bookshop.

Tracing Your Caribbean Ancestors by The National Archives' Guy Grannum provides anyone interested in researching their family's connections to the British West Indies with everything they need to know to get started.

The book will also be of interest to anyone studying the social, economic and military history of the British West Indies over the past 300 years.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the independence of Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago and The National Archives has recently posted images from the Colonial Office's photographic collection of the Caribbean on Flickr.
