Deloitte calls on entrepreneurs to share their views

Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has opened its annual survey of UK entrepreneurs for its report: ‘Entrepreneurship UK: 2011/12’.

Now in its fourth year, Entrepreneurship UK has become a leading report reflecting the current attitudes, performance and objectives of entrepreneurs and their businesses.

Tony Cohen, head of the entrepreneurial business practice at Deloitte, says: “When we conducted our survey in 2010, over half of entrepreneurs from across the UK were expecting to generate at least 10% revenue growth over the coming year. Just 8% were projecting zero or negative growth. Many were clearly looking at new ways of raising finance, expanding their revenues and containing their costs.

“Despite an improved economic climate, market conditions remain very fragile. This year’s survey will provide an interesting insight into entrepreneurs’ confidence in the coming months.”

Keith Willey, entrepreneurship expert and associate professor at London Business School, comments: “During a period where every business owner's mind is focused on the gradual recovery of the economy, we'll be testing opinion on the critical issues that have come to the fore in 2011. This includes the recent experiences of the companies surveyed together with their expectations for growth in the coming year.”

The survey is open until the end of July and takes just 10 minutes to complete; simply visit: www.entrepreneurshipuk.com. The results, which will be analysed by Deloitte and the London Business School, will be published in late summer. Each entrepreneur participating in the survey will receive a copy of the ‘Entrepreneurship UK: 2011/12’ report.

All responses will be analysed on an anonymous basis and will not be shared with any third parties. The data will not be used for any other purposes outside the production and publication/promotion of the report.
