Better Buildings Partnership scoops CIBSE top client award
The LDA’s Better Buildings Partnership has scooped the “Client of the Year (large)” prize at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2011 for work in cutting carbon emissions from London’s commercial buildings.
Set up in 2007, the Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) brings together London’s leading commercial landlords and seeks to find ways to reduce their carbon footprint. The commercial buildings stock represents 33% of London’s CO2 emissions, but their ownership and tenancy arrangements can pose a range of challenges to efforts to cut CO2. The BBP uses the expertise of commercial landlords to find ways to overcome these challenges.
One of its priorities has been to help cut carbon emissions from multi-occupied buildings - by measuring energy performance, developing toolkits and sharing knowledge and practice across the sector.
BBP members include Blackstone Group, British Land Company, Canary Wharf, GE Capital Real Estate, Grosvenor Properties, Hammerson, Henderson Global Investors, Hermes, Land Securities, Legal and General, PRUPIM, Quintain, the Workspace Group, Transport for London and the LDA.
CIBSE is the Chartered Institute for Building Services Engineers, the UK’s recognised standard setter and authority on building services engineering.
