Funding for university research facilities

HEFCE welcomes the £100 million funding announced in the budget today for university research facilities.

This investment is intended to maintain and improve the world-class research carried out by our universities by investing in essential infrastructure and attracting investment from outside the public sector.

In administering the fund, we will work with the other UK funding bodies, higher education institutions and other partners, such as business, charities and donors, to attract substantial investment in research facilities. This will help maintain the international position of our universities and the wider research base.
