StatsWales website re-launched
The Welsh Government publishes a range of official statistics about Wales on StatsWales.
They cover diverse topics such as population; economy; health; education; housing and transport.
Finance Minister Jane Hutt said:
“Official statistics are vitally important. They are used on a daily basis to inform policy, support decision making and allocate resources by people across Wales including central government, local government, academia and the private sector.
“StatsWales is a popular and useful resource which everyone can use to access data. The StatsWales website has been re-launched to provide users with improved functionality whilst retaining many of the features of the previous site – making the new site easy to navigate.
Kate Chamberlain, Head of Knowledge and Analytical Services and Chief Statistician said:
“StatsWales is used by thousands of people in central and local government, academia and the private sector across Wales.
"The new and improved website will still give users access to a wealth of official statistics but will also use the latest technology to improve the presentation of the data and expand the ways in which users can download the data for their own use. Furthermore, it provides us with a sound platform on which to build future developments.”
