STFC Public Engagement Funding Schemes - New closing dates announced (link opens in a new window) - The closing date for the 2012B round of Small Awards is the 11 October 2012 and the closing date for the 2012 round of Large Awards is 08 November 2012.
Naked Scientists Podcasts (link opens in a new window) - The Naked Scientists are a media-savvy group of physicians and researchers from Cambridge University who use radio, live lectures, and the Internet to strip science down to its bare essentials, and promote it to the general public. Podcasts from the Naked Scientists are supported by the STFC.
New Cosmic Ray Broadsheet (PDF - link opens in a new window) - Interested in Cosmic Rays? Then take a look at a fascinating and highly informative new leaflet produced by STFC celebrating the history of their discovery over 100 years ago. The leaflet also highlights the latest scientific discoveries on these mysterious extraterrestrial visitors and has been produced for all students and teachers. Teacher notes are also available (PDF - 300kB - link opens in a new window)and High quality hard copies can also be ordered.
York Science and Innovation Grand Tour (link opens in a new window) - An exciting outdoor exhibition of 60 large science images scattered around the city of York has begun and will be up all summer - There are 5 Physics-related images which were supported by a STFC Public Engagement Small Award.

The Council's Public Engagement programme aims to engage public and school audiences with our science and technology. The STFC Advisory Panel for Public Engagement advises on the programme.
