Invitation to conference: responding to marine pollution emergencies

The Food Standards Agency is inviting scientists, regulators and others with an interest in marine oil and chemical spill monitoring, to the PREMIAM conference on Wednesday July 4 2012 at SOAS, University of London.

Pollution from oils and chemicals in our seas remains a significant threat to the environment and food safety. This conference aims to promote the use of sound science, cooperation and coordination in the monitoring and impact assessment of accidental releases of oil or chemicals into the marine environment.

The conference forms part of PREMIAM (Pollution Response in Emergencies - Marine Impact Assessment and Monitoring), which is a cross-government initiative supported by 18 government departments and agencies across the UK.
