At the start of January, we opened the application process for our national portfolio arts organisations and museums for 2015 to 2018. There is now just one month to go before applications close.

Organisations will be welcomed into the portfolio for three years, although we will only be able to confirm levels of funding for 2015/16. Funding levels for 2016/17 and 17/18 will be subject to the grant-in-aid settlement we receive. For more on this, please see our overall investment plans for 2015-18.

Alan Davey, Chief Executive, Arts Council England said:

It's a job with great responsibility – using the money we have in the best way to ensure reach, maintain an ecology and infrastructure, working in partnership and looking at England overall.'

As we approach the deadline of 12pm on 17 March, here are a few things to make sure you’re aware of before submitting your application:

• Organisations that currently receive National portfolio funding and that wish to apply to the National portfolio for 2015-2018 should be aware that they are most unlikely to receive more than their grant for 2014/15, after the reduction of 1.17 per cent announced in the Autumn Statement has been applied. We are only able to consider increases in funding in exceptional circumstances.
• We have recently updated our mission and strategic framework, which will inform all of our funding decisions. Find out more about our mission to achieve great art and culture for everyone.
• You may wish to revisit the timeline for the application process, which can be found within our guidance documents.
• For organisations with intentions to work with children and young people (or Goal 5 of our strategic framework), please ensure you read our guidance notes on Artsmark and Artsaward, which can be found here.
