A group of 35 cyclists rolled through the finish line at Stonehenge late on Sunday afternoon, completing a monumental 3-day challenge to raise money for the improvements to the iconic World Heritage Site.

Departing from Pembrokeshire on Friday morning, the sponsored cycle ride traced the 195 miles separating the Stonehenge bluestones from their source, the Preseli Mountains in Wales, to the site on which they still stand 5000 years late. The picturesque challenge route passed through some of Britain's most beautiful countryside, including the Brechfa forest and the Brecon Beacons National Park. On the final stretch through Wiltshire, participants passed Marlborough, the source of the Sarsen stones that can also be seen at Stonehenge.

Kate Davies, Stonehenge General Manager, said; "This truly was a monumental challenge, and we're grateful to all the enthusiastic participants who braved wind, rain and hills to complete the challenge. All the funds raised will go towards funding the much-needed improvements at Stonehenge, which include a brand new visitor centre and re-connecting the stone circle with the prehistoric landscape."
