Showcase events to inspire budding Welsh entrepreneurs
The Marketplace Wales events will highlight the support available to help entrepreneurs get going. They will be held at:
- The Hayes, Cardiff Christmas Market (14th – 23rd November)
- Celtic Fayre in Broughton Park (27th November – 1st December)
Alongside these events the Welsh Government is also running a radio and digital marketing campaign to encourage budding entrepreneurs to take the first steps towards starting their own businesses.
Since 2008, the Welsh Government’s Business Start-up programme has helped establish 7,111 new enterprises and create more than 13,896 jobs - with a further 8,704 jobs expected to be created by June 2015.
Economy Minister, Edwina Hart said:
“Global Entrepreneurship Week is a chance to celebrate the work of entrepreneurs, who are vital for building a strong economy, encouraging growth and creating jobs.
“The Welsh Government can provide guidance, advice and support to anyone thinking of starting up their own business. These Marketplace Wales events are an opportunity for people to find out more about that support and see a few of the many entrepreneurial success stories that we have here in Wales. I hope they will inspire more people to turn their ideas into a viable business.”
More than 200 events will be held across Wales by different organisations as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (18-24 November).
