Have your say on noise action plans for Wales
Launching the consultation, Ms Davidson said:
I am pleased to announce this consultation. The Assembly Government is determined to do more to highlight and address the issues of excessive environmental noise that can have a real impact on the daily lives of communities, especially those living close to major transport routes.
These plans set out actions to address this issue. I don’t expect there to be an instant fixes to solving all the issues. However, I see this consultation as a major step forward in creating a quieter Wales.
The Noise Action Plans cover the urban areas of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, Swansea-Neath Port Talbot and major transport networks. The Assembly Government is asking for the public’s views.
The plans were created as part of the EU’s Environmental Noise Directive which aims for a common approach to environmental noise issues across Europe.
