The M4 Corridor Enhancement Measures Consultation will run until 06 June and provide the public with a number of different opportunities through exhibitions, workshops, response forms and websites to share the problems that they experience on this particular stretch of the M4 and voice their opinions on how best to tackle these issues.

Workshops have been arranged for the public to attend between 10am-3pm at:

• Wednesday, 28 March: Coleg Gwent, Newport City Campus
• Thursday, 29 March: Ebenezor Baptist Church, Magor
• Friday, 13 April: Brynglas House, Brynglas
• Tuesday, 17 April: The Newport Centre, Newport

The Minister with responsibility for Transport, Carl Sargeant, said:

"We’re all aware that congestion is a problem on this part of the M4 so easing the flow on the M4 between Magor and Castleton is a key priority for the Welsh Government and a commitment in the prioritised National Transport Plan."

"Improving access to our schools, hospitals and workplaces is essential if we are to improve efficiency and productivity and in turn make us more competitive."

"I would urge people to share their views and experiences by taking part in this important consultation so that we can ease the flow on the M4 and make this vital transport artery work better into the future."

Last year a group representing a wide range of people who use and manage the transport network between junction 23a and junction 29 explored a range of options and recommended a series of options to help solve the problem of traffic congestion along this stretch of the M4.

This consultation will provide the public with the opportunity to better understand these recommendations and make their views knows on the proposed solutions.
