Equality and Diversity Innovation Grants Awarded

The Agency has awarded 41 new grants to colleges and training organisations to deliver innovative projects to advance equality, diversity and inclusion in adult education.

The bidding for the grants was very competitive, with the National Institute for Adult and Continuing Education (NIACE) assessing 243 applications on the Agency’s behalf.

Some of the successful colleges and training organisation include:

  • Kendal College – to provide masterclasses and augmented reality software to improve access to WorldSkills for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • Worcester Group Training Association – project to address gender stereotyping in engineering Apprenticeships 
  • Newcastle College – will use a classroom ‘Cycle Pod’ to share information on the needs and positive experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans learners.
