First Annual Review of the Publicly Funded Qualifications Offer

As part of our recent consultation review with the sector on the publicly funded qualifications offer, we want to ensure that qualifications which we approve for funding for adults continue to be high quality and robust, with demand from learners and employers.

We would like to thank colleges, training organisations and awarding organisations for the information they have submitted to us on qualifications with limited demand which they feel should remain available for public funding.

Now the consultation review is complete, we will update the
catalogue of publicly funded provision during the week commencing 6 May. This will include the qualifications with limited demand which we considered as part of the review, but have decided will remain fundable for new starts in 2013/4.

As well as updating the catalogue, we will write to organisations that contacted us with further details on which qualifications will remain available for public funding.

For the qualifications which, as a result of the review, we do not currently intend to fund for new starts in 2013/4, we want to make sure the sector have the opportunity for a final review.

We are therefore extending an invitation to the sector to contact us about these qualifications that have not been added to the catalogue, with any new or additional evidence of demand. During the week commencing 6 May, we will write to the awarding bodies which own the qualifications we do not intend to fund for new starts, and to others in the sector who have already made representations about specific qualifications, asking them if there is any additional information they wish to submit. This information will need to be submitted to the
Agency by 17.00 on Monday, 17 June.

We will confirm the final funding status of these qualifications in the week commencing 24 June.
