The Skills Funding Agency (the Agency) is proud to be supporting Tomorrow’s Engineers Week (#TEWeek13), which is taking place this week (04 – 08 November 2013), aiming to inspire the next generation of engineers.

Working with colleges, training organisations and employers, the Agency has a central role in delivering learning and skills in England, helping to ensure that businesses and the economy have the skills they need to prosper.

Tomorrow’s Engineers Week aims to challenge outdated perceptions of engineering by showcasing the range of exciting careers available as an engineer, engaging young people, their parents and teachers by demonstrating the engineering skills in everything from the shoes young people wear and the music they listen to.

During this inspirational week National Careers Service advisers will be on hand to speak to and help people find out more about the exciting careers available as an engineer. They will be able to learn more about working in construction, space, transport, cosmetics, medicine, food, fashion and many more industries that rely on the work of creative engineers.

The skills that engineers have are in great demand from employers. There are over 60,000 apprentices earning whilst they learn on Engineering Apprenticeships. Engineering careers range from mechanical, chemical and design engineers, through to broadcast, design and building engineers.
