C-NLIS ANNOUNCE LOCAL LAND CHARGES INDUSTRY AWARDS SHORTLIST
The Council for the National Land Information Service (C-NLIS) yesterday announced the shortlist of finalists for its Local Land Charges Industry Achievement Awards. 31 entries have been short listed across 5 categories.
C-NLIS created the awards to acknowledge the work and achievements of Local Land Charges Officers and give recognition to those local authorities who are playing a key role in modernising and shaping the future of the industry. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on 29th January 2008 at the Blackpool Hilton, as part of the annual Local Land Charges Conference. C–NLIS has asked BBC Presenter Bill Turnbull to be the Awards Master of Ceremonies.
Alex Fraser, Chief Executive of C-NLIS, comments: “We are delighted with the number of entries we received and all the nominations were of a consistently high standard. Congratulations to all of the short listed local authorities, their hard work and dedication to quality is an inspiration to Local Land Charges officers across the country.”
The shortlist was drawn up by leading industry experts, including representatives from The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPPs), C-NLIS, The Council of Property Search Organisations (COPSO), The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC), The Law Society, The Local Land Charges Institute (LLCI), The NLIS Hub, The Partnership and Thames Water Property Insight.
The short listed finalists are:
• For Marketing Innovation – London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Crewe
and Nantwich Borough Council, Fenland District Council and South Shropshire District Council
• For Customer Satisfaction for Local Authority Searches – Dudley
Metropolitan Borough Council, Reading Borough Council, Rhondda Cynon Taff CB Council and Torridge District Council
• For Customer Satisfaction for Personal Searches – Bristol City Council,
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, Kerrier District Council, South Gloucestershire Council, South Oxfordshire District Council and Torridge District Council
• For Best NLIS Local Land Charges Department – Castle Point Borough
Council, Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council, City of Lincoln Council and City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council
• For Most Improved Local Land Charges Department - Adur District Council,
Arun District Council, Birmingham City Council, Brentwood Borough Council, Borough Council of Chelmsford, City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, Guildford Borough Council, London Borough of Sutton, Portsmouth City Council, Reading Borough Council, Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council, South Gloucestershire Council and Wealden District Council
The remaining 3 categories for Best Performing Local Land Charges Department, Local Land Charges Officer of the Year and the Local Land Charges Institute Past Presidents Award, do not have shortlists, the winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony.
