CATEGORIES NOW OPEN FOR LAND DATA LOCAL LAND CHARGES INDUSTRY AWARDS

Local Land Charges Departments are once again asked to submit entries in the 2009 Land Data Local Land Charges Industry Awards. Two awards categories are open for entry The Marketing Innovation category and a Special Tribute Award for the Local Land Charges Officer of the Year.

This is the 2nd year Land Data is running the awards and all Local Land Charges departments across England and Wales have the opportunity to enter. An application to enter the Marketing Innovation category can be downloaded from www.land-data-awards.org.uk , entrants are asked to demonstrate their methods of marketing as well as the results achieved.

Nominations for Local Land Charges Officer of The Year can be made online at http://www.land-data-awards.org.uk/index.php?id=2695. Voting closes on Friday 31 October 2008.

The winners will be announced at the Land Data Local Land Charges Awards Ceremony on 28 January 2009, at the Marriott Hotel in Bristol.

Land Data Chief Executive Alex Fraser comments: “Last year’s Local Land Charges Awards were a great success and reflected the immense effort on the part of Local Land Charges Departments across the country, to improve their service and strive for excellence. I encourage as many Local Land Charges Departments as possible to join in the voting.”

The awards, in 7 categories, will be judged by representatives from some of the industry’s leading players. The awards celebrate the work and achievements of Local Land Charges Departments in England and Wales and give recognition to those local authorities who are playing a key role in modernizing and shaping the future of the industry. The 2009 celebrations mark their achievements during 2008.

Last year’s winner of the Marketing Innovation Award went to Crewe & Natwich Borough Council and Fenland District Council’s Rachel Parnell was named Local Land Charges Officer of the Year.

Land Data manages NLIS, which was set up to support local authorities (LAs) and other property information holders in England and Wales in their move from manual to electronic provision of property information services. Through the NLIS hub, users can access information from 410 Local Authorities, national parks, Land Registry, the Coal Authority and water companies, in an electronic format.
