Commission to gather views on public services
The Commission was established in April 2013 to look thoroughly and objectively at the way public services are governed and delivered in Wales, and how they may be improved. This broad remit covers all devolved public services and the Commission will report to the Welsh Government by December this year.
Chair of the Commission on Public Service Governance and Delivery, Sir Paul Williams said:
“The First Minister set up the Commission to explore how public services are delivered and governed and has tasked the Commissioners to make recommendations to help shape the future of public service delivery.”
“A key part of our remit is to ensure that the work of the Commission and any recommendations it makes is based on evidence from a broad variety of sources and perspectives. We are therefore asking the users and providers of public services in Wales to provide examples of their experience, and I warmly invite individuals and organisations to provide evidence and give us their views.”
People will be able to contribute to the consultation, which is open until the end of August, in writing, online or face to face with the Commissioners at several events throughout the summer. Details of these sessions will be available on the Commission’s website and will be publicised locally.
Separate questionnaires for the public and for organisations who provide services have also been published on the Commission’s website.
