Members of STFC research communities (grant funded and facility users) are invited to a town meeting on the 14^th October 2013.

STFC is committed to regular engagement with our communities, to ensure maximum input to our programme, strategic direction and future plans. We held a range of Town Meetings earlier this year, at which we provided advice on the progress of the Triennial, Spending and Programmatic Reviews. However, since those meetings the expected timetable for the finalisation of these Reviews has slipped, and to avoid uncertainty, we are providing a mid-financial year update.

We don’t expect to be able to provide definite outcomes of any of the various Reviews at this meeting, we do encourage the community to attend to hear the latest information, expected timetables, programmatic highlights, and to provide your thoughts on progress. To ensure as open a dialogue as possible, media are excluded from the Town Meeting.

We had already arranged a debrief session at this time for the Advisory Panels to obtain their feedback on the processes used in the Programmatic Review. Rather than ask Panel members to re-arrange their schedules, I will hold a meeting for Advisory Panel members only immediately after the main Town Meeting.

Please register for the Town Meeting online by Wednesday 9 October to allow us to finalise catering and other arrangements.
