The future of the Excellence Gateway and other LSIS materials
In light of the announcement that funding of LSIS by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) will cease by 1 August 2013 we have been undertaking a managed exit from our delivery of improvement services for the further education and skills sector and will cease delivering courses, training conferences and other support, by the end of July.
Following detailed discussions with BIS and the new Education and Training Foundation we are now able to confirm some of the arrangements post-July.
The Education and Training Foundation have confirmed their commitment to maintaining the Excellence Gateway as currently structured in the short-term, and will undertake a review of the sector’s needs in relation to resources and materials to inform their longer-term position. The Foundation is developing its proposals for this review and will be circulating further information shortly.
In addition, all LSIS intellectual property rights (IPR) in relation to LSIS-owned material, including material on the Excellence Gateway, have been transferred to BIS, pending further developments.
