CBI responds to NAO report on police procurement
The CBI responded to a report by the National Audit Office on police procurement.
Matthew Fell, CBI Director for Competitive Markets, said:
“More needs to be done to improve how police forces procure their goods and services, like purchasing regionally or centrally. Adopting a common specification for uniforms, for example, is a simple but effective way to achieve this.
“At the same time, police forces must go even further and open up their administrative and operational support functions to competition from independent providers, which will save money and free up officers for the frontline.”
