NLIS hits 22 million searches!
Land Data and NLIS celebrated the 22nd millionth NLIS electronic conveyancing search, at the recent Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence ceremony held in Bristol.
Champagne was presented to Jane Luker, Local Land Charges Team Leader at Surrey Heath Borough Council who responded to the search requests from a local solicitor for a property in Camberley. The solicitor, using his NLIS SearchFlow connection, submitted his requests electronically to the council’s local land charges team who returned the completed LLC1 and CON29 searches back via the NLIS Hub and SearchFlow links to the solicitor in just under two days.
Land Data Chief Executive Jan Boothroyd commented: "Now in its 13th year, NLIS continues to meet the needs of conveyancers who want authoritative, reliable and accurate conveyancing data delivered quickly and securely to their desktops. The NLIS electronic end-to-end model is a proven success, bringing benefits to all parties concerned be they the data provider, the conveyancer and the consumer.”
NLIS creates efficiencies in the conveyancing information chain from source date direct from the data provider through to the conveyancer and on to the consumer. The NLIS Hub connects electronically to all 346 local authorities and processes searches for 50% of all electronic conveyancing transactions in England and Wales.
