Helping to develop an Innovation Strategy for Wales
The meetings form part of a Wales-wide consultation on the development of an Innovation Strategy for Wales.
It will build on the Science for Wales strategy launched earlier this year, which identified the need for a current complementary strategy to deal with the commercial exploitation of research and development and also the promotion of innovation.
Business Minister Edwina Hart said she wants to gain the widest range of views on the subject and the consultation provides an opportunity to influence the development of the strategy for Wales.
“Innovation is recognised as one of the key drivers for economic growth and job creation. It is also considered by many to be the best way that society can address developing challenges such as an ageing population and resource scarcity and to improve the delivery of public services.
“We want all stakeholders to participate and identify issues and suggest ways to improve the innovation performance of Wales and I hope people will take advantage of these meetings."
Innovation Specialist will also be on hand at the meetings to discuss how they can help individual businesses and information on Innovation Funding and Support will also be available.
The meetings will take place at:
- 14 June – 09:00-12:00 - Welsh Government offices, Merthyr
- 19 June – 09:00-12:00 - Welsh Government offices, Llandudno Junction
