British Business Bank needs more resources to help businesses, says TUC
Commenting on the announcement, on Wednesday, of the first stage of funding for the British Business Bank, TUC General Secretary Frances O'Grady said:
'It's great to see that more money is being made available to businesses through the British business bank.
'However, today's announcement shouldn't be seen as a silver bullet for curing all our economic ills. The bank needs far greater resources to help businesses and the funds need to be made available quicker.
'The business bank should also be allowed to raise funds on the capital markets like all other comparable investment banks, and its remit should be expanded so that it can support infrastructure projects too.'
