Revised UK resuscitation guidance
Following the recent revisions to the UK resuscitation guidelines 1. HSE are now informing all HSE approved training providers involved in the deliver of first aid at work, emergency first aid at work, offshore first aid or offshore medic training the timetable by which they should be compliant with the changes to UK Resuscitation protocols.
This means HSE approved training organisations must:
-
ensure all trainers and assessors are fully conversant of the changes before the 1st April 2011.
-
the delivery of new protocols to students should start by 1st April 2011
-
all existing training materials such as presentations explaining the protocols need to be revised by the 1st April 2011.
-
regarding training manual stocks HSE understands there are expenses involved in re-publication and would expect the training provider to ensure a corrigendum was in place explaining the relevant changes for existing stocks. However, when these stocks are exhausted the revisions must be incorporated in revisions to these publications. However, those changes must be implemented by 31st December 2011 in accordance with the recommendations of the UK resuscitation council.
