LDA taking Royal Docks to MIPIM
The London Development Agency is planning to market the Royal Docks at the international property fair MIPIM in March 2011 as the biggest development opportunity in London.
With the eyes of the world on London in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the LDA – in partnership with the Mayor of Newham – believes this will build on the growing investor interest in the Royal Docks.
MIPIM is the world’s largest property and development fair, attracting investors from around the world. The LDA will present its approach to investors and outline its programme for the selection of future developers for its Silvertown Quays and Royals Business Park sites, two of the major available sites in the Royal Docks.
The LDA's promotion of the Royal Docks will be supported by two new reports. The 'Parameters for Development' and 'Spatial Framework' will add details to the 'Vision for the Royal Docks', which was published in July 2010 by the LDA and London Borough of Newham.
To assist the preparation of the Spatial Framework, the LDA has appointed a team comprising East architecture, landscape, urban design, Terry Farrell and Partners, GVA Grimley and Alan Baxter & Associates. The work on the Parameters report is being led by Aecom and is supplemented by on-going work by Muf Architecture, Maccreanor Lavington Architects and Landroom/Peter Beard in specific parts of the Royal Docks.
