Days Out app helps you plan summer outings
English Heritage has released a great new free app for iPhone and Android phones, bringing you ideas for days out across England. Whether you fancy a castle, an English garden or a magical ruin, this handy tool can help you on your way to a great day out.

Simple and easy to use, the app lets you search for properties near you, or alphabetically. You can also find out where is good to take the kids, or the dog, which properties have cafes, and which are wheelchair accessible.
Included on the app is basic information on all 380 English Heritage properties, 260 of which are free to visit. Members can access even the 120 properties that need staff onsite to maintain them, at no further charge. Using the app, you can buy a membership en route so that by the time you arrive, it is ready to use.
