Book now for the Stories of the World Conference which showcases the largest youth participation project ever carried out by museums. The event takes place on 9 November at Leeds City Museum.

Stories of the World involves over 60 museums across the country, working with over 2000 young curators to explore their collections and develop exciting exhibitions and events for summer 2012. The participating museums have developed new ways of working where young people are not only involved at the heart of museum processes, such as interpretation and exhibition development, but also are given influence in decision making.

The project is led by Arts Council England in partnership with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).

This conference will showcase the extraordinary change taking place across the museums sector as a result of Stories of the World, and will kick-start the discussion on what next? How can the legacy of Stories of the World be sustained after 2012.

The conference will feature case studies from participating museums, a panel discussion led by the Stories of the World national youth steering group, creative workshops and networking sessions. Young poet, James McMillan will sum up the event, and throughout the day there will be opportunities to add your thoughts to our film of talking heads.
