LLUK & MLA launch new libraries, archives and information services careers website
LLUK and MLA, the Museums, Libraries & Archives council have collaborated on a new website to highlight the opportunities for young people in libraries, archives and information services.
The new infoprofessional site showcases real life people profiles and current job roles in libraries, archives and information services settings.
The site has been built from a bank of careers information gathered from practitioners from all areas.
The site features over 30 profiles of actual employees who describe their routes into the world of an infoprofessional and offer helpful tips in how to get started.
The web site provides a one stop shop for careers advice for all roles and a few places to get young people started in looking for their first job. The site includes information on all roles from all walks of the profession from assistant to senior manager and from jobs in local libraries to national organisations such as the NHS.
It's not all hard work though as the site provides a little light fun with the inclusion of an interactive game.
Why not drop by and see how well you do!
