General Advisory Committee on Science annual report 2010/11
The General Advisory Committee on Science (GACS) has yesterday published its third annual report, which describes the committee’s work over the past year. GACS provides independent advice to the Food Standards Agency on how the FSA uses science.
The report highlights work completed by committee, including:
-
advice given on the update of the FSA's Science and Evidence Strategy 2010–15
-
development of a framework for the FSA to follow in deciding when and how to use scientific data, and when and how to use funding from industry or NGO partners
-
improving communication between the scientific advisory committees (SACs) and other independent experts
The report also describes areas where the Agency has performed well over the past year and priorities for the future.
This is GACS' third annual report and covers the period from 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011.
