Farmer Gosden’s Dairy is recalling all varieties of its Luxury Jersey Ice Cream with ‘best before’ dates from 1 October 2011 to 28 December 2011, because the ice cream might be contaminated with bacteria, but are not present at high enough levels to cause a risk to health.
The Agency has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.
Product details
The products being recalled are:
- all Farmer Gosden’s Luxury Jersey Ice Cream varieties
- best before: all dates from 1 October 2011 to 28 December 2011 inclusive
The company is recalling the affected products from customers and stockists.
If you have bought any of the ice cream affected by this recall, do not eat it, but contact the store where you bought it from.
If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). The Food Standards Agency issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a ‘Food Alert for Action’ is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.
