Say no to violence against women - sign the petition

PCS supports the Say 'no' to Violence against Women campaign. Help the campaign reach 1 million names by 25 November - the day all names will be handed to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in a broadbased call for governments to take action to end violence against women and girls.

At least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime — with the abuser usually someone known to her.

Violence against women and girls is a universal problem of pandemic proportions.

Perhaps the most pervasive human rights violation that we know today, it devastates lives, fractures communities, and stalls development.

But it remains largely invisible. Fear and shame prevent many women from speaking out. But you can help them to be heard and to be seen through your actions, advocacy and support.
