NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE EMERGENCY PLANNING COLLEGE

Michael Charlton-Weedy, CBE, has been appointed Chief Executive of the Emergency Planning College near Easingwold, Yorkshire. He is expected to take up his position at the end of April.

Since 1989, the College has been the Government's centre of excellence for running short seminars, workshops and courses on an inter-agency basis in the field of crisis management and emergency planning.

Michael Charlton-Weedy is soon to retire from the Army where, in his current posting, he is Deputy Adjutant General and Director General Service Conditions with responsibility for the Army's personnel administration. He is aged 52 and married with three teenage children.
