COMMMAND CHANGES IN GULF REGION

The following routine changes among senior officers currently
deployed on operations in The Gulf region are due to take effect on
the following dates:
14 April - Major General Peter Wall, Chief of Staff to the National
Contingent Commander, is replaced by Brigadier Barney White-Spunner,
in the local rank of Major General. Next month General Wall will
replace Major General Robin Brims as General Officer Commanding 1
(UK) Division, an appointment previously announced on 1 June 02.
General Brims is to become Deputy Chief Joint Operations as announced
in the routine appointment notice on 7 October 02.
16 April - Major General Tony Milton, Royal Marines, replaces Rear
Admiral David Snelson as UK Maritime Component Commander and
Coalition Deputy Maritime Component Commander. General Milton is
currently the Royal Navy's Commander of Amphibious Forces and also
hold the post of Commandant General Royal Marines. Rear Admiral
Snelson returns to UK to resume his duties as Commander UK Maritime
Forces.
29 April - Captain Chris Clayton will replace Captain Adrian Johns as
Commanding Officer of HMS Ocean. This was first announced on 24
February. Captain Johns becomes Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff on
27 May.
