CBI responds to Climate Change Committee report on COP26

CBI yesterday responded to Climate Change Committee report on COP26.

Matthew Fell, CBI Chief Policy Director, yesterday said:

“Business is committed to building on the momentum generated by COP26 and turning positive words and pledges into concrete action at home. Delivering the UK’s Net Zero Strategy is the cornerstone to decarbonising our energy, heat and transport systems.

“Transforming the UK economy and reorienting it towards sustainable green growth requires active collaboration between government. If we’re to take one clear lesson from COP26, it’s that business is ready to play its part.

“But the UK can’t solve the climate and nature crises alone. These are era-defining global challenges and the UK must use its continued role as COP26 president to lead ambitious efforts around green finance, increased adaption and developing effective carbon markets.”
