The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee is producing rapid summaries of oral evidence sessions, aimed at providing the public with the latest information on the Science of COVID-19.

Background

This summary covers an evidence panel on Tuesday 9 June, where we spoke to experts about how behavioural sciences have been used to understand how people might respond to measures for dealing with the pandemic.

Chair's comments

Chair of the Committee, Lord Patel, yesterday said:

"In the absence of treatment or a vaccine, advice to citizens related to behaviour has played a major part in controlling the infection. Going forward a clear message, and trust in that message, will remain important."
