House of Lords AI Committee Call for Evidence
The House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence has published a call for evidence on the economic, ethical and social implications of advances in AI.
The House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence has published a call for evidence on the economic, ethical and social implications of advances in AI. techUK has already been working closely with the Committee as the members are keen to engage with our members during this inquiry. The Committee is keen to receive written input from both techUK and directly from members around the key issues below, by Wednesday 6th September.
techUK will be working with members to develop a written submission. If you would like to contribute to the development of techUK’s response, and a possible meeting with the Committee during the inquiry, please get in touch with Sue.Daley@techuk.org by Thursday 17th August.
Areas the Committee is interested in collecting evidence include:
- The current state of artificial intelligence.
- The pace of technological change and the development of artificial intelligence.
- The impact of artificial intelligence on society.
- The public perception of artificial intelligence.
- The sectors most, and least likely, to benefit from artificial intelligence.
- The data-based monopolies of some large corporations.
- The ethical implications of artificial intelligence.
- The role of the Government and
- The work of other countries or international organisations.
