Investigation into fatal police shooting in Milton Keynes

The Independent Office for Police Conduct is investigating a fatal police shooting in Milton Keynes.

We received a mandatory referral from Thames Valley Police at 10.55am following an incident on Saturday (26 June).

We have been advised that police were called to a disturbance at a domestic property on Denmead at around 9.40am on Saturday. Armed officers were among those who attended.

During the incident, a police firearm was discharged and a man suffered fatal injuries.

Our investigators attended the scene and the post incident procedures where the officers involved will be providing their initial accounts.

The IOPC investigation is at a very early stage and no further information can be provided at this time.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic incident.
