We’ve put together a quick summary of each session below to help you decide which one(s) you’d like to do. Click the title links to register for your choice:
• Functions of Volunteer Management (Tuesday 16 May, 11:00-11:30)
Delivered by Helen Dixon, Volunteer Manager, Intact Preston
Helen has been twice accredited for Investors in Volunteers during her eight years supporting volunteers at the Intact Centre. During this session, she will share her expertise and insight into how you can support your staff and volunteers to work effectively together.
• Parliamentary e-petitions (Wednesday 17 May, 12:30-13:00)
Delivered by Emma McIntosh, Petitions and Engagement Officer, House of Commons
What are e-petitions? What can they do? These are the building blocks of a short session with Emma that will help you explore how you and your learners can get more directly involved in politics, even after the votes have been cast this summer.
• Developing digital skills (Thursday 18 May, 10:30-11:00)
Delivered by Kevin Maye, Learning and Development Manager, Good Things Foundation
Can you remember what it was like not to know how to do something you now take for granted? Kevin shares some of his experience in creating learning content by helping us get back to basics, think about learning digital skills from a different perspective and supporting others on their learning journey.
• Diversify your income (Friday 19 May, 11:00 -11:30)
Delivered by Paul Worswick, Founder and Director, Joining Communities Limited
During this session, Paul will share Joining Communities’ success stories about the different ways they access funding. You’ll leave this session with new ideas about how you approach funding, including who to prioritise and how to influence.
