LGA responds to iHV call to reverse public health cuts
Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Chairman of the Local Government Association’s community Wellbeing Board, responded to calls from the Institute of Health Visiting for urgent action to protect babies and children’s health and development, and reverse the public health cuts
“This warning echoes our own call for the Chancellor to reverse the Government’s public health cuts in tomorrow’s Budget.
“Public health services play a vital role in improving the health of children, young people and adults, reducing the need for treatment later down the line and easing the pressure on the NHS.
“Unless this is properly funded, it will put at risk services such as health visiting, which are vital in supporting the health and development of babies, children and families.”
